Klingon Bloodwine
For our new Klingon Bloodwine, we utilized the same ancient methods as the great Klingon vintners, and the talents of 2020 Wine Enthusiast’s ‘40 Under 40 Tastemaker’ Andrew Nelson as winemaker. The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes used to create this traditional Klingon Bloodwine were cultivated to produce strong fruit that glistens a vibrant ruby color in the glass. Design elements, including a special silk screen process with a unique mesh texture provide an authentic look and feel. Each bottle is then hand filled and expertly wax dipped. In addition, there are unique Klingon sayings on four different corks used in bottling – all celebrating the Klingon culture and language. Which one will you get? Batlh YItlhuhtlh! Qapla!
United Federation of Planets Sauvignon Blanc
Enter the next generation of the United Federation of Planets wines, a Sauvignon Blanc, made from north coast California grapes. Each limited-edition Sauvignon Blanc bottle is individually numbered. Designed as a companion to the United Federation of Planets Old Vine Zinfandel, its futuristic round shape and unique label cut were inspired by the StarFleet Delta and are a nod to Star Trek: The Next Generation official issue uniforms. The bottles elegant design and premium wine quality were created as if they were to be served at official United Federation of Planets gatherings including diplomatic banquets, Federation Council meetings, and planetary assemblies. Federation of Planets Special Reserve Sauvignon Blanc has flavors of elegant tropical fruits and white peach burst forth with a refined acidity that balances the ripe citrus aromas.
Chateau Picard
Next in the lineup is Chateau Picard. The true back story of Chateau Picard wine is that for several generations in Bordeaux France, the original Chateau Picard winery has been producing world-class highly regarded and sought after Cru Bourgeois Bordeaux. Working with Chateau Picard’s winemakers in France, Star Trek Wines crafted this limited-edition release featuring the Jean-Luc Picard family label shown in the new series Star Trek: Picard with the wine from the multi-generational vineyard in Bordeaux. The 2017 Chateau Picard Cru Bourgeois Bordeaux is from an estate in the heart of the world-renowned Saint-Estèphe region in France. It is an 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Merlot blend that is subtly smoky and spicy with a bright, fresh, clean-tasting style. The wine spends 14 months in oak, 70% seasoned and 30% new.
United Federation of Planets Special Reserve Old Vine Zinfandel
Fourth in the set is our original United Federation of Planets Special Reserve Old Vine Zinfandel from across the Dry Creek & Russian River Valleys in Sonoma County, CA. It is a blend of 87% Zinfandel, 12% Petit Sirah and 1% Syrah. It has aromatics of concentrated strawberry, blackberry and plum preserves with a chewy-layered mid-palate filled with hints of white peppercorn, sweet red and black fruit.
